Every
month we send a newsletter highlighting information useful in todays
landscape. When I try to pick the articles to place in the newsletter
Sergio, the owner, always says " Do something about the water issue."
I have to admit it gets boring after a while, however; every time I
look into it I find that there is always something new.
It's
safe to say that California has a water problem and we need to do
something about it. Whether it's saving water at home or at work, it
always has to be on our minds. As landscape contractors we need to
understand the issue and what we can do to help with the conservation
effort.
When
most of us think about water conservation and drought tolerant plants,
we tend to imagine cactus or something close to that. However, there is
a vast array of plants available that are considered California
Friendly. California Friendly is the new term used within the industry
to get our customers away from thinking bare landscape or dry desert
planting. If we do a little research we will find all kinds of
different drought tolerant plants, and you will find that they are not
as bad as they sound.
Keep
an eye on our newsletter for a different "California Friendly" plant
that I highlight every month and when possible, research them.
Planting the proper landscape and watering the right way can make the
difference. This is how we can help save water and money.
Let's
start with Sergio's favorite....
