Welcome Spring,
Spring is here and it is the season to spend more time in the garden with the family. New blooms in your garden is a good way to brighten up your day and enjoy outside activities. Enjoy time visiting botanical gardens and nurseries to pick up ideas for your garden. Remember to keep water restriction in mind while picking out plants. Here are a couple of recommendations to consider.

Echium Fastuosum
1Pride of Madeira

Echium is a plant that blooms in the spring through summer. Evergreen with a purple flower. This plant is drought-tolerant and suitable for xeriscaping requires full sun and attracts butterflies and birds.

This beautiful plant is one of the toughest succulents. It is very drought tolerant that blooms from late winter through fall. Blue green foliage producing an abundance of brilliant magenta flowers.1
Growth:
16 inches tall
4-5 ft wide
Requirements: Full sun or slightly filtered shade
Good drainage and no over-watering

Grant and Voucher Deadlines Extended
Good news for those who are thinking about applying for Water Vouchers and/or Grants for irrigation. Deadline has been extended from their previous deadline of March 22, deadlines are now as follows.
Sept. 15,2009 - Last date to submit a grant application (complete application must be turned in by this date)
Sept. 22,2009 - Last day that Honeywell will advise of approved grants.
Oct. 15, 2009 - Last day to submit a smart controller voucher application (complete application must be received by this date)
Oct. 22, 2009 - Last day that Honeywell will approve/issue smart controller vouchers.
